The SomaSense S.M.I.L.E for Self-care programme is an effective email-based course to introduce self-care skills into your life and to help you maintain it.

It uses the action research framework which makes the process:
  • Simple, structured and easy to follow - you are guided through each of the five steps - self-reflection, making your plan, implementing it, living it and after some time, evaluating it.
  • Problem-solving & life-changing - it starts with looking closely at where you are (self-reflection), identifying problems and making a plan to change the way we live and care for ourselves, our family and our community.
  • Practical & solutions-focused - the course is very much a doing-type course. As you actively spend time learning more about yourself and your self-care needs, you  take action to find solutions and implement it.
  • Sustainable - It is a repeatable process. Once you have lived and evaluated your self-care plan, you can start the process again to keep improving how you look after yourself.
  • Individualised - you devise your own content for the plan, there are no prescribed regimes, diets, programmes. The success lies in you creating a tailor-made self-care strategy for your personality and circumstances. 
  • Cost-effective - because you design your own self-care plan and financial wellbeing is one of the aspects you include in your plan, you can make it is simple or elaborate as you wish and your budget allows.
